The Holistic Highway

Modern medicine has failed in its core promise: to keep us well. Kerry is an internationally recognized integrative health practitioner, educator, author, and TEDx speaker whose talk, Context Is Everything, challenges the one-size-fits-all approach to health. Her work asks a deceptively simple question: If we are all different, why are we still being told that the same things will make all of us healthy? Her work bridges Ayurveda—one of the world’s oldest systems of individualized medicine—with modern discoveries in genetics and epigenetics. Together, they offer a radically different way of thinking about health: one that looks at the individual rather than simply the diagnosis. Formerly a practitioner with the University of Pittsburgh Center for Integrative Medicine, Kerry has spent more than a decade developing an individualized approach to health that incorporates diet, behavior, stress, lifestyle, genetics, and the unique constitution of each person. She is the author of The 25-Day Ayurveda Cleanse and a passionate advocate for changing the conversation around healthcare—from managing disease after it appears to empowering people to understand their own bodies and actively participate in staying well. Because health was never meant to be one-size-fits-all.

Aging Is Inevitable. How You Age Is Not

What if getting older and aging were not quite the same thing? We’ve been taught to think of aging as an inevitable decline—less energy, more weight around the middle, poorer sleep, aching joints, brain fog, and an ever-growing collection of medications. But your chronological age is only part of the story. How you age is deeply personal. In this lively, interactive class, integrative health practitioner, author, and TEDx speaker Kerry Harling explores what the 5,000-year-old science of Ayurveda understood about longevity long before we had words like genetics, epigenetics, circadian biology, and personalized medicine: we are all different, and we need different things to stay well. You’ll discover your own Ayurvedic body type and learn how your individual biology influences the way you respond to food, exercise, stress, sleep, and the world around you. Kerry will share practical strategies for protecting energy, maintaining strength and vitality, supporting digestion, and staying engaged with life as you get older. Expect science, ancient wisdom, practical tools—and Kerry’s distinctly British take on our modern obsession with staying young. You can't stop the birthdays. But you may have far more influence over how you age than you think.
