What Wellness Means to Me: Finding Balance in Meals, Movement & Mindset

What does wellness mean to you?

For me, wellness is so much more than eating healthy, working out, or trying to look a certain way. It’s about taking care of yourself as a whole person — nourishing your body, moving with purpose, and creating a mindset that supports you through every season of life.

I believe true wellness comes down to three essential pillars: Meals, Movement & Mindset. You need all three to truly build your best version of yourself.

Meals: Nourish Your Body From the Inside Out

Wellness starts with how we fuel our bodies.

I believe in whole-food nutrition, prioritizing protein, and creating balanced meals that give us the energy we need to feel our best. Food isn’t something we should fear or feel guilty about. It’s nourishment, fuel, and one of the most powerful ways we can support our health.

A few of my favorite wellness nutrition reminders:

Prioritize protein. Protein supports muscle repair and growth, helps keep us satisfied, and is especially important when building strength and recovering from pregnancy. Eat a variety of whole foods. Colorful fruits and vegetables, quality proteins, healthy fats, and whole grains provide a variety of essential nutrients. Don’t forget hydration. Water supports energy, digestion, and overall health. It’s one of the simplest habits we can build. Balance over perfection. You don’t need to eat perfectly to be healthy. Consistency, nourishment, and enjoying the foods you love all have a place in a healthy lifestyle. For women, and especially mamas, nutrition plays such an important role in supporting energy, strength, recovery, and the demands of everyday life.

My goal is to help women understand that food is not the enemy. It is one of the tools we have to build a stronger, healthier, more energized version of ourselves.

Movement: Build Strength for Life

Movement is about so much more than burning calories.

As a trainer and postpartum fitness specialist, I believe strength training is one of the best ways women can invest in their long-term health. Building muscle, improving strength, and learning to move confidently can change how we feel in our bodies and how we show up in our lives.

Movement can look different for everyone. It might be a strength workout, a walk outside, dancing in your kitchen, stretching, or playing with your kids.

The goal isn’t to punish your body. It’s to support it.

I encourage women to focus on:

Building strength through resistance training. Moving consistently in ways they enjoy. Supporting their core and pelvic floor, especially during pregnancy and postpartum. Finding movement that fits their current season of life. You don’t need to spend hours in the gym to make progress. A consistent, intentional workout can be incredibly valuable.

Strong women are built through consistent habits, not perfection.

Mindset: The Foundation of It All

This is the piece I believe is often overlooked.

You can have the perfect workout program and the most nutritious meal plan, but if your mindset is working against you, it becomes much harder to create lasting change.

Wellness means learning to care for yourself with patience, grace, and intention. It means understanding that your worth is not determined by your weight, your appearance, or how productive you are.

For me, mindset is about:

Practicing self-compassion. Creating realistic habits and expectations. Celebrating progress beyond the scale. Giving yourself permission to rest. Learning to show up for yourself, even when life gets busy. Especially as a mom, it can be easy to put everyone else first. But taking care of yourself isn’t selfish. It allows you to feel stronger, more energized, and more present for the people you love.

You deserve to be a priority in your own life.

Why You Need All Three

Meals, Movement & Mindset work together.

When you nourish your body, you have the fuel to move. When you move your body, you build strength and confidence. When you develop a supportive mindset, you create the foundation to stay consistent through life’s ups and downs.

You can’t separate one from the others and expect to feel your best long-term.

True wellness is not about chasing a smaller body or following the latest health trend. It’s about building a lifestyle that supports your physical health, mental well-being, and the life you want to live.

And the best part? You can start wherever you are.

You don’t need to overhaul your entire life tomorrow. Start with one nourishing meal. Take a walk. Drink more water. Get stronger. Give yourself grace. Choose one small habit that supports the woman you’re becoming.

Small, consistent actions add up.

My Wellness Philosophy

Through The Mama Method, I help women rebuild their best selves through nutrition, strength training, and mindset — with a special focus on supporting women through postpartum and beyond.

My mission is to educate and empower women to feel confident in their bodies, understand their health, and create sustainable habits that work in real life.

Because wellness isn’t about being perfect.

It’s about becoming the strongest, healthiest, most confident version of YOU — from the inside out.

And that starts with Meals, Movement & Mindset.
